Benefits of an Internship

Types of Internships
Elmhurst College offers many different internship opportunities in a variety of areas.  Depending on your major, credit hours received, and time of year, an internship would have a student work any amount of hours fitting into their schedule.

Semester Internships
Students work at least 10-20 hours per week during the Fall or Spring term for up to 14 weeks.  (Summer Term is typically full-time for a designated number of hours.)

Field Experience
Students intern 35-40 hours per week for the month of January only.  Many transition into part-time jobs or Spring Term internships.

Cooperative Education
Students work 6-40 hours per week during Fall, Spring, and Summer Terms.  Students commit to do at least two experiences at paying job sites prior to graduation.
