Open Lab Hours
Students enrolled in the GIS Certificate Program will have, at their disposal, open lab times, which will be staffed by GIS Certificate Program instructors. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Laboratory use of DA 204 polices are established by Elmhurst College Academic Computing. Questions regarding this policy may be directed toward the Assistant Director for Academic Computing or the GIS Certificate Program Coordinator. Finally, you can view the daily operating hours of the Elmhurst College Academic Computing Lab or contact the GIS Program Coordinator.
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Laboratory is reserved for the use of students and faculty for GIS-related coursework and research. Any other use of the lab is only allowed with the permission of the Assistant Director for Academic Computing and/or the GIS Certificate Program Coordinator. All students wishing to make use of the lab should check first with Academic Computing regarding availability of machines at certain times and consult with GIS Certificate Program Instructors. The GIS Certificate Program reserves the right to limit student access to lab equipment in cases where the student does not have adequate training in its use or if the equipment is to be used for previously scheduled course exercises or training. Final authority over all use of lab equipment rests with the Assistant Director of Academic Computing.
Resources
The Elmhurst College Buehler Library contains numerous resources such as software manuals and tutorials, which enable users to learn how to utilize software more effectively. Most software manuals and tutorials exist in both hardcopy and digital format. As a result, users may access the same resource simultaneously. In addition to software materials, the Library also contains many textbooks and periodicals pertaining to a wide-range of geospatial technologies. These resources may be checked-out with permission from the Library personnel.
